
Meera Angelica Joshi is a filmmaker based in San Francisco, California. Born and raised in the Antipodes, she moved to the US to study Film and Television at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Investigating the personal stories of her family and community through humor and heart has been a huge source of inspiration for Meera. Her work has aired on Australian TV, been featured in the New York Times and screened at festivals worldwide including SF IndieFest, International South Asian Film Festival Canada and River Film Festival.
Meera is a 2025 SFFILM Filmhouse Resident and is currently in post-production for her latest short film "The Sale" inspired by her mother’s adventures as an Encyclopedia saleswoman in the 90s. The film was awarded a grant from Tasveer and Netflix. She is also developing her first feature film “Ancestor” based on the true ghost story that haunted her family.
